Do Waterfalls Only Touch the Ankles?

Inspired by a poem I wrote, Do Waterfalls Only Touch the Ankles? is a large-format painting that captures a quiet, tactile moment where written poetry meets figurative form. In this piece, only the lower half of the female nude is visible - specifically the curve of the hips and legs. From the waist up, the body is completely veiled under a flat, semi-transparent white sheet. I wanted this translucent surface to act as an ethereal boundary, softening the figure beneath while creating a sense of weightlessness and quiet mystery. Working with a vibrant palette of deep crimsons, bright scarlets, soft pinks, and white, I explored the rhythm of exposure and concealment. The red and pink tones bring emotional warmth and physical presence, while the sheer white veil transforms the body into a poetic, fluid landscape.
